EMDR Therapy Certification with Dr Robbie Adler-Tapia & Valorie Everton

You’ve completed Basic Training in EMDR Therapy. Congratulations! You realized via your 50-hour training journey that EMDR Therapy is a game changer in your profession, but, you don’t quite have the confidence you would like to have, or you want to continue to build your skills, your confidence and competence to make EMDR Therapy your primary therapy. (because it is so amazing)

Here’s what is included:

1. EMDRIA (the organization that grants certification for EMDR) requires 20 hours of consultation with an EMDRIA Approved Consultant to be eligible for Certification. Get familiar with the requirements for certification by visiting the EMDRIA website.

2. The initial 2 hours will be a Certification Introduction Group ($100 per person)

a. Each clinician will do a self-assessment to determine their strengths and areas for future focus and the group will review the required reading for the program.

b. We will go over the EMDRIA requirements for certification, complete our required contract and review the required documents - such as copies of your independent license, malpractice insurance, and EMDRIA approved Basic Training Certificate. You must email these documents to tapiaemdrtraining.org prior to the initial introduction group.

c. We will talk in depth about the difference between supervision and consultation, the ethical considerations, and review the other steps included in the process of getting certified, as well as what other group and individual consultations will look like.

d. You will receive a certificate for completing this 1st two hours of consultation towards certification.

3. The rest of the 20 hours will include some group and the required 10 hours of individual consultation as follows:

a. 15 hours of group consultation (6-2.5-hour meetings via zoom)

i. Each person will do a live demonstration (30-45” “session” with 10” for feedback) Each consultee will be the therapist with another group participant acting the client for phases 3-8 just like many of you did in Basic Training. This will count as an individual hour for the “therapist”.

ii. Each person will also earn credit for an individual hour as they offer a presentation on one of the phases – to be assigned.

b. 8 hours will be completed individually with Valorie /Dr Robbie and scheduled in advance.

4. Confidentiality will be of course expected, and consultations will be provided via HIPAA-compliant Zoom format.

5. We will share a treasure of resources and work to support you through your journey.

6. Total Certification Program Cost is $2200.  Payable if you continue beyond this initial Certification Program Group. Details available during group.
